The machine is pneumatically driven and electric control . The straight knife type separator machines were designed to separate pre-scored panel boards carefully, without bending or tension stress . Even
sensitive SMD-components like ceramic capacitors will not be damaged by the separate process . Due to the special design of the knives also boards with high components placed close to the edges can be separated safely . Based on a proven method of separating, wedge-shaped knives are used to cut the panels within the groove . This enables boards of less than 1 mm thickness to be separated safely and without creating stress .

PCBs are separated by the CWVC-450 dual wedge-shaped knives in one gentle rocking motion that shears the panel along the score line, without stress or damage to the PCBs or components. Even when metalized circuit boards are processed – such as those populated with heat-generating LEDs that require heat-dissipating metal inner layers – this machine will easily make the cut.

CWVC-450 pcb depanel also cuts flexible and ultra-thin PCBs (down to 0.5 mm thick) clean, with no ripping or tearing, even when sensitive components such as delicate ceramic capacitors, are mounted within 0.5 mm of the score line. The linear, rather than circular, cutting surfaces allow for faster separations without added stress.

Alignment between the CWVC-450'S linear cutting blades and the panel's score line is achieved using a knob at the top of the machine. The narrow separation between the upper and lower blades (a maximum of 4 mm) protects the operator from the blade edges
